About the Author:
Joseph P. Graskemper, DDS, JD, DABMM is in private dental practice in Bellport, New York and is an Associate Clinical Professor for the State University of New York at Stony Brook, School of Dental Medicine, where he was Past Director of Professional Responsibility. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Malpractice, and a Fellow of the American Society of Osseointegration, a Fellow of the International Congress of Implantologists, a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellow of the American Endodontic Society, and a Fellow in the American College of Legal Medicine.  He has been an expert witness in numerous court trials and a consultant to fellow dentists and State Dental Boards regarding issues of risk management. His articles have appeared JADA, Dentistry Today, The Compendium, and The Journal of the American College of Dentists.  He has lectured nationally and internationally on Professional Responsibility.   He is the author of the book, Professional Responsibility in Dentistry: A Practical Guide to  Law and Ethics.
